The G10LM is a contemporary General Service pattern field watch, designed with specifications that distinguish it from many similar models currently on the market.
Unlike many manufacturers who use a push-on caseback, the G10LM features a screw-down caseback, which improves durability and enhances water resistance. In addition, while some comparable watches use perspex or plexiglass crystals, MWC uses hardened mineral glass, which is more scratch-resistant and gives the watch a cleaner, more refined appearance.
This particular version is supplied with an additional plain caseback, allowing the watch to be engraved and personalised with a service number or other details. Once engraved, the caseback can easily be swapped by a watchmaker or engraver in place of the original caseback supplied on the watch.
Engraving a separate caseback is generally recommended because it avoids vibration or pressure on the movement that can occur when engraving is performed while the caseback is attached to the watch.
